- 26 March. Found an interesting Wikipedia entry on Norlin Airlann written in Ulster Scots. Also came across this very interesting project which documents the fauna and flora of a Donegal Hedgerow.
- The Donegal Heritage Store is up and running. This is an Amazon outlet which has been customised to include some of the most important and interesting publications and music relating to the County.
- 19 March. Gloomy day with horrible weather. A good day for updating the project.
- 18 March. A black day for the county. Condolences to all who lost loved ones in road accidents over the weekend!
- 17 March! Happy St Patrick's Day.
- 10 March. Mad photoshoot dash around the County. Glenties, Ardara, Glencolmcille, Killybegs etc. 60 pikkies to upload. If you have not ever been to Glencolmcille... you have to go. The Glengesh Pass sets the scene for atmosphere, but the glen of Glencolmcille is hard to beat for powerful historical and natural resonances. Well worth a visit, but go on a better day than we did to appreciate the full grandeur of this vally.
- 7 March. The Archaeology pages get updated. A framework is put in place for the current state of archaeological sites and relics to be recorded.
- 5 March. Donegal wiki gets a Google presence, gets upgraded to accept 2GB of content (that is plenty of space - we can have an infinite number of pages now) and has security beefed up. We also have a dedicated email address to accept contributions. This is: donegalwiki@gmail.com
- 4 to 10 March is National Tree Week. How well do you know your trees? See the Trees and Forests page for lots of information.
- 3 March. Spring has sprung, apart from ferocious storms. Some mad happy snapping around the County and some serious wiki building. The wiki now has more than 200 pages (mostly empty, but stuff will come). Donations of material are streaming in. Lots of work to do.
- 24 Feb 2007. This project is inspired by a visit to Fort Dunree. A Daddy and two little boys having a ball exploring the site, surrounded by layers of heritage (natural, cultural and historical), with not another soul in site. An INS patrol vessel steams down the Swilly, evoking a resonance with the past, spring flowers are popping up, birds are nesting and the sun shimmers over the lough. The urge comes to share this special place with others, and a wiki is born.
