This comprehensive and finely detailed book was produced by the County Council and edited by Brian Lacy (assisted by Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Nualláin). It details all (most? many?) of the known relics in the county. The work on this project was carried out between 1979 and 1983. Sadly, many of the sites / relics detailed in the book have been degraded (by time, nature, agriculture, development and deliberate vandalism). It would be great to have this fine record updated and revised. This project provides a cost-effective for the current state of such relics to be recorded and publicised. Local knowledge is the key.
